The 3D Technology innovative
project board of Vienna University of Technology is inviting any interested
researcher or practicing expert to hand in
abstracts for the second international conference/workshop of:
Milling-Technology
in Architecture, Art and Design to be held at Vienna University of
Technology on December 17th 2007.

Objectives: The
conference will bring together researchers, practicing experts and
business
representatives
in the field of digital
manufacturing and rapid prototyping. The major aim is to exchange
experiences and ideas of state-of-the-art CAM-technologies with future
possibilities to implement in architecture, art and design. In
particular innovative applications of milling-technology will be
discussed.
Several
sessions are planned with presentations lasting between 20 and 30
minutes. Submissions from fields of art and architecture are strongly
encouraged. Abstracts for presentations in the following specific areas
are welcome:

CNC-milling for
architectural prototypes and models
-
design process and
materials
-
surface structures
-
digital design for CNC
applications
-
CAD / CAM simulations
-
robotics in
architecture and design
Essays are limited to 1000
words. Please include a short biography of each author.
Acceptance of papers,
publication of the speakers' list and timetable: November 15th,
2007
